How to Build Blog Traffic

If you wish to use your business blog to expand and engage your audience, you're going to have to find ways to develop the blog traffic to a point where someone other than your immediate family is reading it, am I right?

Done correctly, a business blog will have a multi-faceted benefit to your business. It can do more than just bring you new customers, it can help shape and define your brand, establish authority, amplify search rankings, enable social sharing and so much more.

Done poorly, it can be a virtual wasteland, where you are the only one commenting on your own posts, and wondering just how foolish this looks to everyone.

One the best ways we know of to start building a blog traffic is by use of paid ads. This doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg, and it can result in great results if you give it a little time. Here are 5 ideas for buying that traffic.

5 Places to buy paid ads to build blog traffic

Outbrain – You've seen these ads, usually following content on major websites. Outbrain's Amplify is terrific for showcasing your best blog posts, and it carries the added benefit of getting your content on major sites with massive readership you may not have been able to otherwise. (Tip: Partner this with a retargeting ad on Facebook for killer results!)

Facebook Ads Maybe the best paid traffic opportunity available today, mainly for the ability to precisely target your audience while not spending a fortune. Their audience insights tool alone is worth the price of admission!

Google Adwords – While they have been around forever, Adwords can nevertheless be useful if you know how to use it well. Otherwise, you'll be paying far too much for what you're after.

LinkedIn Sponsored Updates – Assuming you have content that appeals to professionals in any sense, this could be a goldmine for you. People on LinkedIn are more businesslike, and a bit more engaging, so if this one fits, don't hold back!

Pinterest Promoted Pins – While still asking you to get on a waiting list, once you're in you will discover a lot of engaged people who love to interact. The demographic of Pinterest is primarily female, so if your product or service is visual and applies to women, go for it!

If you need help generating leads, please call us. We have an excellent lead generation program where we pay for all your advertising expenses and take all the risk for you. You only pay when you get results. This is a massive undertaking and understandably we're limited in how many companies we can help at any one time. If you're interested and find the program paused or not available, just leave your details and we'll let you know when it re-opens.

Thanks Rudy – I’ve played around with Outbrain a bit too and found the traffic fairly cheap. I think it pays to be selective with where you allow your ads to be shown.
